Anthony Edwards was born in Santa Barbara, California, on July 19, 1962, to a well-blended family. He attended Santa Barbara High School and then studied theater at the University of Southern California. After graduating, he moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. Edwards' big break came in 1983 when he was cast as Dr. Mark Greene on the NBC medical drama ER. He played the role for eight seasons, until his character was killed off in 2002. Edwards has since starred in a number of films and television shows, including "Top Gun" (1986), "Miracle Mile" (1988), and "Zodiac" (2007). He has also directed several films, including "The Fisher King" (1991) and "Charlie Bartlett" (2007). Edwards is married to actress Jeanine Lobell, and they have two children.
