Surgery to sideline Wisconsin five-star for 3-4 months

Pete Thamel of ESPN has revealed a major update on the status of Wisconsin five-star recruit Kadyn Proctor. According to Thamel, Proctor is expected to undergo surgery on his left foot and will be sidelined for 3-4 months.

Proctor, a 6-foot-8, 330-pound offensive tackle from Southeast Polk High School in Iowa, is considered one of the top recruits in the country. He committed to Wisconsin in June over offers from Alabama, Ohio State, and LSU.

The injury is a major blow to Wisconsin's hopes of competing for a Big Ten championship this season. Proctor was expected to be a starter on the Badgers' offensive line, which is already thin on experience.

Without Proctor, Wisconsin will likely turn to Logan Brown or Riley Mahlman to start at right tackle. Brown is a redshirt freshman who started two games last season, while Mahlman is a true freshman who was a four-star recruit.

Proctor's injury is also a setback for his NFL draft stock. He was projected to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but his injury could cause him to drop down the draft board.

Proctor is expected to make a full recovery from his injury, but it is unclear if he will be able to return to the field this season. The Badgers will have to hope that Brown or Mahlman can step up and fill the void left by Proctor.
