ACN denounces massacres in Burkina Faso

Christian charity condemns the recent murders in Burkina Faso and asks for prayers for the victims

Armed Islamist militants have killed at least 100 civilians in a series of attacks in Burkina Faso, according to reports.

The attacks took place in the northern countryside as the region recovers from a previous extremist attack that killed 12 soldiers.

Christian charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) has condemned the massacres and asked for prayers for the victims.

"Once again, innocent people have been senselessly killed in Burkina Faso," said ACN project director Regina Lynch.

"We offer our condolences to the families of the victims and pray for their comfort at this difficult time."

ACN is supporting the Church in Burkina Faso in providing food, shelter, and other assistance to those affected by the violence.

The charity is also working to promote peace and reconciliation in the country.

"We urge the international community to take action to stop the violence in Burkina Faso," said Lynch.

"The people of Burkina Faso deserve to live in peace and security."

Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world and has been plagued by violence in recent years.

The country is home to a large Muslim population, and the extremist attacks have been blamed on groups linked to al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group.

The government is struggling to contain the violence, and the attacks have forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes.
